After stepping off our afternoon GO train home (#281, the "Bramalea Flip" from Union to Brampton), GO Transit F59PH 521 on the rear accelerates its L8 consist out of Bramalea GO Station, dipping under Steeles Avenue underpass just as a convenient eastbound CN freight lead by C44-9W units 2609 and 2660 approaches in the distance (about to startle the pigeons roosting on the overpass). By the end of the platform, the F59 was usually moving at a pretty good clip to get the train up to speed for the climb up the Halton Sub through Peel and Brampton East interlockings and into downtown Brampton for its final stop. This particular consist kept itself busy all day: it would enter service in the morning as southbound train #830 on the Richmond Hill line, do a stint on the Lakeshore line as train #908 from Burlington to Oshawa, deadhead to Bramalea, then spend all afternoon running the afternoon Bramalea trains back and forth from Toronto (#251, 254, 257, 260, 263, 266) before a final run punching through into downtown Brampton, and deadheading back to Toronto for its last assignment as #864 up the Stouffville line.
