Although the Wabash has recently been acquired by the Norfolk & Western (October 1964), there are no signs of the change in ownership as an extra west rolls though Cayuga behind four F7As on a fine late fall/early winter day in 1964.

  1. Wonderful view, however with the tree canopy full of leaves, I doubt this is December.

  2. Myles, please be assured that those scanning images and writing captions try to be as accurate as possible. Often, we are only working with the processing date stamped on the slide, the image itself, and our knowledge of the territory and its operations at the time. If we can, we do cross-check against other records (excursion dates, books, records from other fans, railway documents) but in some cases–such as this one–all we have is that processing date.
