Caption: An American arrives in town
In 2003, QIT (Riviere Romaine Railway) replaced their aging Ohio locomotive crane with a remanufactured American model 855 DEH (Diesel Electric traction, Hydraulic swing) crane.
It is seen here on July 2, 2003 outside their equipment shop during in-service commissioning.
In the background you can see locomotive QIT 1 (ex-QIT 4) on static display at the roadside leading into town. Directly across the street from the Hotel Du Havre which was my home for the week.
