Caption: Aroostook was once a busy village. Situated near the Maine border, a station stood near the junction of the New Brunswick Railway (NBR) and the Aroostook Valley Rwy (AVR) connection. Now, the station, supposedly protected by Heritage; sits forlorn amongst the trees and shrubbery next to a trail; with only a fence to protect it from the elements. The trail is the result of the track being lifted about 30 years ago. Hopefully this old frame structure, built in 1906, will see an honest effort to save it from slowly succumbing to the passage of time.
