Caption: Back in 2003 the area still had two shortlines operating in the area over both former CP and CN lines. Not the case today unfortunately with only CN serving what rails remain. On this trip we hoped to get both railways operating but unfortunately the two days we had in the area nothing ran. I wasn’t exactly sure where the power at the time was kept but after scoping out the area we came across almost all of their power. For a brief period Trillium Railway had some kind of connection with the KPR I believe as their former M420 3575 is in the mix. The two HLCX former UP SD40’s (rebuilt into SD38’s) were a sign of what would become of the motive power here as the MLW’s would eventually be sold to Lake State Railway in Michigan and replaced with GP38’s. Eventually the KPR folded and CN returned to operate what remains here today.moving or not I certainly can’t complain with the consist this day in front of my eyes.
