CN #580 with a lone covered hopper in tow passes the flood wall along the Grand River at Brantford on the Burford spur (ex LE&N portion). The train is returning after working SC Johnson & Son at the end of the line. The LE&N car shops at one time occupied the land near the new housing development in the background.

  1. Now that’s a great shot Marcus! Wish I could have seen a train here but by the time SC Johnson stopped using Rail I still had no clue this line exitsted. I was only 11 and the day you took this pic was actually the day after my 11th birthday! I’m 18 this year on Queen Victoria’s Birthday! But great shot and at least others are willing to share photos of the former LE&N before it’s demise.

Just of curiosity, was Nov 30 2011 the last time CN ever ran down this portion of the line?
