CN M320 exits CP's Detroit River Rail Tunnel after being rerouted from the Flint Sub in Michigan due to the ongoing tunnel closure in Port Huron/Sarnia. M320 is the train's reroute ID but I'm unsure of what the regular ID would have been. CN is rerouting several trains via CP's tunnel between Windsor and Detroit and then utilizing the Chrysler Spur and VIA/CN Chatham Subs to get to the Strathroy Sub at Komoka.

  1. So how are these routed to the Chatham sub? Safe to say vanderwater yard is still not being used? I had thought CN severed the yard from the CASO tracks to the tunnel.

  2. As far as I know VDW still has access to the tunnel but it’s heavily overgrown and the signals are no longer on at Windsor South. These reroutes are taking CP to Central Ave. then entering Little Yard and the Chrysler Spur. The Chrysler Spur then joins the Chatham Sub at the wye near Jefferson Ave. I might go take a walk down to Windsor South soon to see if the tracks are still there. I’ve been hearing mixed things about the rail being removed/still there at Windsor South.
