CN train 479 is seen here nosed onto the Fort Nelson Extension with a short train of fuel to bring to the community of Fort Nelson, some 250 miles north. The "old main" can be seen to the right and ends in about 35 car lengths. At one point this was the northern most point on the PGE until the early 1970's when the railway was extended to Fort Nelson. It's just past 0900 and the sun is only beginning to rise. The old station building once sat somewhere around where that pile of snow to the left is.
