Continuing on with station photos.... This one was familiar with many fans; the old MCRR/TH&B station at Fort Erie. It was known by most photographers as that modern (1949) boarded up brick building that sat abandoned on the north side of the tracks near the International Bridge. Once the TH&B dayliners ceased operation in spring of 1981, the building outlived its usefulness. It was demolished in 2000. Note the newspaper box for the Globe and Mail. The price was 10c per copy. It is now $5.25. !!!

    A nice shot. You can easily imagine this when standing here as the foundation is still in place as is some of the track top left..

    Missed it by that much! I was 3 years too late by the time I started going after stations in Ontario. Of course, opposite side of the tracks stood the old witches hat style ‘Bridgeburg’ (I believe it was also known as ‘Fort Erie North’ at one time?) station for CN, demolished of course, long before the MCRR / TH & B station. Glad you captured it Arnold.

    I think I only took a few photos with that station in the background. Probably late 90’s and it was a dump. Very sad to see what Fort Erie has become over the years, once a thriving city.
