A set of VIA Rail Budd RDC cars (known on CN as Railiners, known on CP as Dayliners) depart with Sunday's train #663, leaving the Toronto Terminals Railway corridor at Bathurst Street after having departed downtown Toronto's Union Station. The consist today is an RDC-1, RDC-9, and RDC-2. The RDC-9 appears to be VIA 6004, that operated until retirement with yellow ends but no CN blue and white stripes, instead retaining its black CN sides.  The downtown Toronto skyline is visible in the background, filled with hotels and office buildings but  relatively spartan compared to all the condos and hi-rises today. GO's Bathurst North Yard sits empty behind the Budds, and the concrete on the flyunder built a few years prior is still a fresh white colour. The switches at the lower right lead to Spadina Roundhouse and Spadina Coachyard, hubs of activity that will soon be relocated to Mimico the next year, and later torn up and demolished. The incline following the cement retaining wall was for the CP shed lead that went up to Spadina Ave to service a team track and paper shed (the large CP/Dominion Express freight sheds were closed down in the late 70's and demolished for Roy Thomson Hall).
