Nice to finally be able to knock this one off the bucket list.Cherrywood was a popular location for everyone chasing this move, as it is typically the last shot of the day. There had to be close to 20 foamers on the embankment; both local and from all over. In addition to that, another 4-5 at the grade crossing and flying drones.What most don’t know (and I forgot to mention to those there) is that this shot will not be available much longer, as the City of Pickering plans to extend 3rd Concession to a new subdivision on the northeast side of the valley. The result being a new roadway that will span the valley directly north of the bridge (essentially between where I’m standing and where the tracks are).So, be thankful for what you have, and take advantage of it while you can! I was very happy to have shot this one in my all-time favourite location along the Belleville Subdivision. If this is the last train I shoot at Cherrywood before the scene is marred by a concrete jungle, I’m good.

It was great to see so many people on the hillside! What great fun.

Some information on proposed roadway changes:

Rossland Rd exension and turn north seems like a foregone conclusion (to the east side of the bridge) but the connector road bridging the valley seems like an ‘option’ at this time.

Thanks Host, there’s another map I saw somewhere (forwarded from Mike Lockwood) where they had Concession 3 spanning the valley and connecting with Rosalind. Either way, the scene will certainly change in the near future!
