Caption: CP Rail MLW S3 6540 works the John Street coachyard area in downtown Toronto, seen next to the old CP yard office building, and the south end of Toronto Union Station's train shed near Bay Street subway/underpass. Some CP 40' boxcars and piggyback flatcars sit on the adjacent track (for the John St. piggyback ramps), and a set of CN RDC cars with RDC-1 6113 sit at the south end of the train shed on outside Track 11 (before the train shed extension was built for tracks 11 and 12).
Few highrises are present on the Toronto skyline at this time, but the brown CNCP Telecommunications building is visible at 151 Front Street West. The "High Line" bypass tracks sneak by the yard office in the foreground. That concrete CN Tower? Nearly new at the time!
