Caption: During a weekend chase of the Orangeville-Brampton Railway's Credit Valley Explorer, a stop along Main Street just south of the village of Alton offered a nice picturesque view of CCGX GP9 1000 leading its consist full of excursion riders through the rolling hills of the Osprey Valley Golf Course and Caledon countryside, heading southbound from Orangeville to Inglewood and back. The consist is the usual three cars used at the time: 1978, 2003 and 3247, all former CN/VIA passenger cars.
On this muggy morning there was a surprise CP GP9u up in the yard at Orangeville (8248!) but it appeared that whatever issue there might have been before with CCGX 1000 had been fixed, and it lead the CVE on this day while the borrowed 8248 slumbered in the yard, waiting to be returned to CP the next week.
