Even with the recent rain there is still looming smoke over most of southern Ontario from the wild fires up north leading to a very unique situation for photography, but as with most things the railway doesn't seem to be paying that much to it as a textbook 528 lead by CP 8915 rolls through Galt on its way to Albany NY.

  1. Great shot Ben. Thanks for this view. What a difference from my start on CP in 1973. The Dundas Street bridge wasn’t there, there was a gate tower and he looked after both Brooke and Bond Streets in addition to Dundas.
The track next to the main was a designated passing track & short trains like the acid or London pickup (out of Toronto) could take the siding there for a meet. The next tracks were 1, 2 & 3 one being next to the passing track. The west leg of the wye is the last track.
The whole “game” of railroading has changed so much in the last 52 years.
