Evening has fallen, and VIA FPA4 6774 on detouring train 79 is seen passing by the old VIA/CN Georgetown Station getting hooped up its train orders from the operator. VIA 79 is detouring off its normal Oakville Sub/Dundas Sub routing this evening due to a wreck at Paris on CN's Dundas Sub. Note the old baggage cart tucked away at the side of the station, and two GO Transit consists parked on the same track (one with an F40PH and the other a single-level cab car) in the Georgetown commuter yard.

  1. Ooh my very nice Bill!

  2. Wow!
    How things have changed

  3. Nice. Sweet evening light.

  4. Interestingly the VIA train is not on the mainline but in a pocket track for passengers trains. It was signaled at both ends. I remember picking up my train orders when I was a conductor on the VIA trains going the “back way” as we used to call it. Actually they will be putting this track back as part of the mainline when 3 tracks cross the Credit river. Great shot. Thanks for the memories.

  5. Very evocative shot.

  6. I remember that wreck. It was the day of London slide sell and show. Going to London and return the back way. Bruce
