Every once in a while I come across a roster image I feel is worthy of submitting to Railpictures. This shot of CN 2336, MLW M-636, one of a series of these beasts built back in 1971, was a lucky catch positioned as well as could be within the confines of Niagara Falls CN yard. The series was retired between 1992-1998, and I think this one was one of the last to go.........

    A giant at rest. These big ALCO/MLW locomotives were so impressive. Very hard to think of them as no longer useful, and deemed only worthy as scrap.

    Was 2338 not held at Mac Yard for a prolonged period?
