Every once in a while I come across a roster image I feel is worthy of submitting to Railpictures. This shot of CN 2336, MLW M-636, one of a series of these beasts built back in 1971, was a lucky catch positioned as well as could be within the confines of Niagara Falls CN yard. The series was retired between 1992-1998, and I think this one was one of the last to go.........

  1. A giant at rest. These big ALCO/MLW locomotives were so impressive. Very hard to think of them as no longer useful, and deemed only worthy as scrap.

  2. Nice catch….one of the few that we’re capable of leading during that era.

  3. Was 2338 not held at Mac Yard for a prolonged period?
