For their first few seasons, Rocky Mountaineer utilized ex ATSF GE B36-7 units, but in 1996, leased HELM GP40-3 power took over. Here are HATX 804 and 805 eastward from Vancouver (timetable southward) on BNSF between signal gantries at Braid in New Westminster, and directly alongside the switch that provides the CP Jct. connection from CP’s Westminster sub., as seen on Thursday 1996-08-01 at 0851 PDT from the Brunette Avenue overpass.
