Former CP track that became reborn under "Iron Road" revived the Quebec Southern Railway name for a few years. The QSR was revived in 1996 and the Iron Road went bankrupt in 2002. Note the 'CDAC' on the locomotive, this is for 'Canadian American Railroad'. (Parent?) I found the various names confusing; perhaps someone can sort it all out......as there was also BAR and NVR (Northern Vermont) within the organization. Anyway, the whole set up went bankrupt by 2002 and the assets were acquired by MMA (Montreal, Maine & Atlantic) and they in turn went under, and it all became Central Maine and Quebec in 2014, comprising of the old CP Atlantic trackage as well as the former Bangor & Aroostook. And still is today.
Power seen: QSR 509, 508, 505 and NVR 513.
The downfall of the railroad could be blamed on deferred maintenance. Its a killer.

  1. Great shot!
I miss the CDAC a lot. Wish I made more trips there.
