Freshly rebuilt TTC A7-class PCC 4496 pulls out of Dufferin Loop, signed up for the Dundas route but actually one of the chartered cars operating on a fantrip for the Electric Railroaders Association convention in Toronto. Two of the TTC's GM NewLook (fishbowl) buses, 7145 (left) and 3918 (right), are seen operating on the 29 Dufferin route serving the CNE (background).

The TTC's Dufferin Loop was one of the main transit access points to get to/from the Canadian National Exhibition grounds (via the Dufferin Gate entrance here). The girdered bridge next to 7145 spans CN's Oakville Subdivision rail corridor, and this spot was also once home to the old CN/GO Exhibition station for the same purpose (until relocation by GO Transit to its present location to the east in the late 60's).

  1. I knew Dave. Is he still alive?? I heard he was in a home with a serious stroke.

  2. I’m not sure on his current status Bruce, perhaps one of the other transit photographers knows? Hopefully he’s doing okay.

  3. Living just off of Dufferin – and having worked at the CNE Casino many summers – I’m certainly familiar with this scene (if not these particular vehicles).
