Caption: From one of my first rolls of digital film comes this gem of a shot. Yes, it is the same place you're thinking of, but before many, many different changes.
A very bare looking Toronto Union Station and surrounding area, looking east from the Skywalk to the train shed, September 2005. A few things missing have since been added, and a few other things have since been changed.
The funny thing is, most of the platforms here were and are long-disused, with GO and VIA both preferring to load trains under the train shed (with no trespassing on the platforms for photos!). The only train that regularly used them was The Canadian when it loaded on Track 9. One wonders if utilizing all the spare platform space at both ends of the train shed could help with station capacity issues.

Very nice photo Dan! Simpler times it seems….at least, certainly less busy!
Nice photo. Very unusual to see the train shed empty.
The entire station and interlocking is no longer called the TTR.It is now called the the USRC.Union Station Rail Corridor.
