From our Latest VIA Trip to BC! The sole surviving Canadian Pacific Alco-designed cab-unit, FA-2 #4090, sits on display at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in Cranbrook, BC.
This photo is from a trip my wife & I took on the 'Canadian' & is part of a 4 part YouTube video series I filmed where:
-In Part 1 we took VIA Rail's transcontinental train "The Canadian" Westbound from Toronto to Vancouver.
-In Part 2 we explored Vancouver Island by tour train, rental car & ferry .
-In Part 3 we journeyed aboard BC Ferries thru the inside passage from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert.
-And in Part 4 we took VIA Rail's "Skeena" Eastbound thru the Rockies from Prince Rupert to Jasper.
The video of part 1 - The Canadian - is now available on my YouTube channel at:

Cheers! Pete

  1. Note/Errata: This locomotive appears in my recent video of the “Canadian” but the pic was taken on a 2017 trip – not my latest trip. I was using a caption from a prior pic as a template for this one.

  2. The MLW/ALCO FA2 is a classic. Let’s hope it gets respect and not graffiti. A roof would be a nice way to keep her dry as well.
