Caption: Here's a more modern view of CN's old ex-GTR Maple Station to go with Todd Steinman's photo. Now restored, it's serving as the local GO Transit station in the growing community of Maple, surrounded by lots of new suburban development and even getting a second track/platform for expanded GO service.
On this day, despite being a Sunday, there were still delays: GO MP40PH-3C 628 was operating on weekend northbound train #6311 (Toronto-Aurora) and was having compressor issues. When I put in an appearance on the scene, the train had pulled into the siding north of Maple GO station at Teston and was waiting in the clear (maybe for the crew to try to fix the issue). The train then pulled south into the station, seen here (sorry passengers, you're going to have to wait for the next train), unloaded its passengers, then departed back into the siding at Teston in the clear. Two GO buses were waiting nearby for passengers to board for the rest of the trip north to Aurora. Southbound train #6916 came and went. Northbound train #6915 came and went. Then 628's consist departed south for Toronto out of service as equipment move #E6913, and didn't enter service again that day.
