Caption: I was driving from Assiniboia to Saskatoon on this day, taking a fairly indirect route as there were many places I wanted to check out along the way. The first stop was Chaplin, where I was hoping to get an eastbound past the elevator in morning light. Sure enough, 668 (unit potash empties) was along soon after I got to town allowing me to quickly check this one off the list.
According to the Canadian Grain Commission website, the Chaplin Grain Corporation had their primary elevator license revoked on July 23, 2019, though things seemed to be active when I was in town with hoppers and other activity at the elevator so I can't really say with certainty what goes on here these days. There was also a sodium sulphate mine in town operated by Saskatchewan Mining and Minerals that receives rail service.
