If you had told me a year ago that I'd see CP 421 with 3 CP engines and not a single one painted in red I would've said you're out of your mind. Sure enough, yesterday's 421 consisted of 2 ACu's in the maroon/grey scheme, CP's D-Day ACu 6644, and a BNSF ET44AC(?) thrown in for good measure. Quite a catch for sure, and I'm glad this train came about 3 hours later than usual as the sweet evening light was just beginning to set in when it passed me at Leaside. I hope you enjoy the shot!

  1. What a great catch!

  2. Thanks Marcus! It sure was a fun one

  3. Very nice indeed Liam! I had a decent shot in mind of this train right near Bolton but sadly the storm clouds were rolling in by the time it was near there so I decided to stay back at home. Would’ve been nice for me if 421 came at the usual time but ah well that’s all part of the game, some days timing works out for only a particular handful of railfans and other days it works well for another handful, LOL. The 2020s sure seem like they’ll be some heck of an era for power on CP so in that guess I guess I got the rest of the decade to make up for Friday!
