Imagine my surprise and delight when 8 Chessie units were spotted near Toronto Union Station in August of 1985. I had seen a couple there in previous years, but certainly not 8. B&O EMD 3726 is still in Baltimore and Ohio blue, with the CN Tower in the background. The other units on hand that day were Chessie 3737, 3735, 3719, 3727, 3717 and B&O blue 3723 and 3729. Were these lease units? I do not know.

  1. They all were. CSX apparently (as a holding company at this time) didn’t mind leasing out this stuff to CP.

And sans “CSXT” markings and renumbering.
