In the mid 90's, much to the delight of guys like me, the power-short CP was leasing everything they could get their hands on.  Here is an example: Westbound about to roll under the Hwy 6 bridge at Puslinch is CP 5836, HATX 501 and VIA 6452. Photo taken late afternoon.

  1. Nice.. so grown in now – can barely see the telegraph poles. The leaser years kept coming and going… 2004 was a great year for leasers too, FURX, HATX, etc.

  2. I recall seeing CP using the VIA locomotives on the local train from Obico to Oakville but didn’t realise they were put on trains outside the Toronto area. Yes; CP had many oddball things then.
