JACKPOT! Having moved to Chatham, I have to say I miss seeing the CN a bit. Not a lot of opportunities arise that I can get photos of CN in Chatham. However, Saturday was a good day for railroading. After being up early in the morning and seeing the 6:30 VIA departure from the Chatham station, I had seen 3 more trains. However, those were all missed opportunities...but then came Blenheim. And, there they were. The red nose of CN 4785, with sister 4784 in tow along with the lone grain hopper being taken back to Chatham. I had just enough time to drive quickly into the Thompson's parking lot, putting the car into park and getting this photo to capture my 5th train of the morning. Knowing about the lack of traffic on the once busy C&O trackage through Blenheim, this was special.

  1. Nice shot. I try to get this train every Saturday in Chatham. If I miss it, then I can just get the power getting lifted onto 438 later in the day.

  2. Thanks Luke. I have seen the units parked on the siding in Chatham (at the end of Merritt Street) mostly every Saturday. I have been trying as well to photograph this train in Chatham too…and it would have worked if I didn’t have family down that day in Blenheim! I had hoped to chase it all the way back into Chatham! Oh well, another time :)

  3. What a disgusting mess of a once busy and proud Division
