Caption: Just on the outskirts of Jasper, fall has fallen. That yellow, green, and red broken by the silver steak approaching the final station on the Albreda subdivision, Home. Home is named after Railway Hall of Famer, Harry Home. He’s a local Jasper legend and a foamer making us all look like amateurs. He has passed and I was fortunate enough to spend time with him while he was a passenger of mine when I was working the Skeena. Why is Harry so special? He was a major part of restoring CN 6060, he was one of the men that pitched the concept of the Rocky Mountaineer, he even organized the steam excursions for Expo 1986, all while he was hogging full time in Jasper for CN. CN had to ask him politely to retire well into his late 70s.
