Just over a year ago, a northbound CWR catches the tail end of sun on an otherwise cloudy day with CP 5996, CP 6045, and CP 6232 leading. The multimark is probably the most iconic logo from the diesel era of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Once displayed on hundreds of locomotives, the classic logo & accompanying "action red" paint colour are down to 6 active locomotives in 2026 by my count. With SD40-2 refurbs coming in the new Keith Creel colours, this number is expected to dwindle further as time goes on. A pair in 2025 was incredible, but the question must be asked: will Ontario see a multimark duo ever again? Chances are slim but you never know...
