Manually controlled semaphore signals protect the junction of this spur to Riverside that branched off from PC's (ex-NYC) CASO Sub line and crossed the Essex Terminal Railway, in Windsor ON in 1974. Note the outdoor interlocking lever controls near the diamond, not protected from the elements by any shelter or awning.

According to track diagrams, this was the "Windsor Star Lead", a spur from nearby Van de Water yard that ran west to service the Windsor Star, crossing the ETR's line at the manually interlocked diamond here, a stone's throw from the Detroit-Windsor tunnel entrance (the interlocking is barely visible in the upper right of this photo). It continued to be in use by CN after Conrail sold off the CASO Sub in the 80's.
