Noteworthy:


   And the last regularly scheduled passenger trains to pass by CPR Oshawa: for a three month period commencing October 1965 CPR rescheduled and renamed train 21 The Royal York and train 22 Le Chateau Champlain and re-equipped same with surplus cars from The Canadian, however these trains were non stop between Leaside and Smiths Falls. Final runs for #21 &  #22 January 23, 1966


 interesting: CPR trains 3 & 4 (Montreal – Vancouver) and 12 & 13 (Toronto – Sudbury) The Dominion final runs January 7, 1966

  1. Looks identical to CP’s Westmount Station (still standing, though no longer in use).

  2. How is it that passenger service to Windsor continued until 1971 or so?

A good friend of mine, the late Dave Savage….took me here on one of our many station hunting trips and showed me the grounds….where this station was at the end of Centre St. As a kid, having traversed the 401 through Oshawa on many family trips to Napanee….I wish I had known of this station. Too little too late I guess…like most structures demise.
