Most people seem to shoot The Canadian at Bathurst Street or up at Snider, catching it departing Union Station isn't as photogenic due to all the pedestrian bridges, the tight corridor, and limited spots to shoot the entire train. However, since we were in the area one afternoon, a late departing #1 offered the opportunity to quickly catch it departing Union Station on its cross-country trip to Vancouver, roughly an hour and a half late (regular departure time 9am).

Today's consist was lead by VIA F40PH-2D units 6412 and 6404, followed by baggage-dorm 8606, coaches 8103 and 8139, Skyline dome 8517, sleepers Stuart Manor, Craig Manor, Osler Manor, Skyline dome 8500, diner Palliser, sleepers Brant Manor, Lorne Manor, Bell Manor, and dome-observation Waterton Park on the tail end.
