Caption: New power, newer track. Brand new CN 8344 is relegated to work train service, handling an 88 car Herzog ballast train from McAbee Pit on the Ashcroft Sub. W 90451 15 is sitting on the “construction track” between Dalehurst and Pedley, part of the major double tracking project on the Edson Sub, which will see double track extended between Hargwen and Galloway and Dalehurst and Pedley. This will alleviate the most serious capacity constraint in Western Canada, as trains work towards the Obed Summit. Don’t believe me?
