Nice view of GMD GP7 #8410 in the afternoon sun. This unit became re-manufactured to GP7u #1510 by the early 1980s; and in 2011 it became the property of the Northern Plains Railroad as their GP9R 1510. I enjoy how many of these were crossed over into short hood in largely the same paint (small multimark) until they were rebuilt in 2014…

basiaclly, looking essentially the same for 35 more years

I remember reading in the past that CP put most of these (oldest GP7′s and GP9′s) into yard service before rebuilding, due to age. A lot of the hump sets at the time featured one mixed in with a chop-nose 8633-35 and an F7B in the middle.
