On a mixed sunny and hazy morning with some of the more dull fall foliage hanging around, GO F59PH no.563 ahead of 10 coaches takes care of a morning Lakeshore East train bound for Oshawa, passing some newly cleared land (in the last few years or so that is) which I believe was being surveyed & prepped for a whole condo village / neighbourhood thingy that has either been delayed or kiboshed since. What's left for now is an open field with a perfect view of the Kingston Sub on an elevated ROW far exceeding the height of any fences or other objects that could get in the way.

I noticed recently while driving east on Gerrard St. that there was definitely an angle to work with here, so after shooting a VIA a few weeks back I set my sights on eventually bagging an F59, today that opportunity arose, and I'm happy with the result.

  1. Good job Liam. Back in the day, I can remember seeing many CN or VIA trains (old blue and yellow paint schemes, each with F7 or other long gone power) leading their trains on this stretch. My memories might be from the other side, along the 401 (if this is that location). Wish I had a camera then!
