On October 1st I decided to go check out the scene at the Wallace Avenue crossing as I knew an F59 would be headed south. I arrived on scene unsurprisingly to many PNR Railworks crews working hard on the grade separation project, one of which was grabbing cut-up sections of rail with a front-end loader, rail that once was the mainline through here before they rerouted it a few feet to the right. Times like these make me wonder how much more interesting it would’ve looked if metrolinx had invested in something like one CWR trainset, among many other things. Regardless, things are changing very fast here so if you find yourself in the area I’d suggest you snag a few pictures before the shot gets completely obstructed.

  1. Nice shot Liam! Yes there will be many changes on the Newmarket Sub at Davenport. I was there when they moved the track over and replaced the existing diamond. The old track that was removed allows them to start construction of the flyover track which will start at Bloor street and rise over the CP North Toronto Sub and continue until just north of Davenport Road. Tracks will be relaid where they were removed as the line will be double tracked from Parkdale to Snider.
