glad to see this photo Glenn. The only others I’ve seen were on a website which I can’t remember the name of. If I recall,the plan was to have power units distributed throughout the train, a harbinger of the now routine distributed power operation, I suppose.
I wonder if the intended “cab” units ever lead one of these trains?. I feel likeI’ve only seen these things pulled by conventional locomotive.
I hope someone out there has a photo of one of the truck/loco combos leading? I feel like there may have been contractual requirements that they could not meet, like hotplates & microwave oven. Also, would a typical locomotive engineer need training to operate it? When it comes to Brandt hiRail trucks pulling railway equipment, the operators are section staff with DZ licences so far as I am aware.
