Recently re-painted, FA-1 CP 4019 is the third unit on CP's afternoon freight from Trois-Rivieres back to Montreal. This FA-1 was built by MLW in 1950 and has CP class code DFA-15b. I expect this is the third paint scheme CP 4019 has worn - CP block letter, CP script, multimark.
The unit in front looks like an RS-3 from a US railroad, I recall seeing Boston & Maine occasionally.
I'm glad I kept most of the negatives from my early years of railway photography, but wish I'd taken more.

  1. Probably a B&M 1500-series RS3. CP had them as well as a boatload of other RR’s units on lease in the 70′s.
