Caption: The great thing about the internet is that sharing information has become simple. I first saw a post about newly minted Strathcona 7470 leading a late-running 113 when it was around Lovekin. Already up north for the day, it was just a question of where and when, assuming it got through Toronto Yard and VIT with minimal delay. The second question was where to get it where it might be "lit" decently. Rightly, or wrongly, I picked "secret location" 86 (mile86) at Mount St Louis Rd, which would be a fabulous spot for afternoon southbounds. They do look nice in fresh paint (which I will not editorialise on), and it's nice to have shots of all three Strathcona units leading. The history is that the Royal Strathconas were created by the man who drove the last spike of the CPR, Sir Donald Smith, a legendary figure in the building of the CPR.
