The ONR provided the only ground access to the northern community of Moosonee, ON. You can't drive here in the summer. In the summer the nearest road is 90 miles away.  (Some winters there is an ice road).  This is the modest facility at the far north end of the RR.  Before moving to Texas in 1979, I rode some trains around Ontario with friends from work (not railfans), including the the Polar Bear Express pictured here. What a ride we had bouncing around in the light weight baggage car at the rear end of the train. July 27, 1979
