The Steel City's grittiness rusts away in Hamilton with Iron Oxide red everywhere. Steel bridges. Scrap steel. Steel fencing. Ever wonder why this bridge at Birch Ave is so wide? To the left is where the Hamilton Radial Electric Railway  (HRER) passed under and there are still insulators under the bridge today. You can see on google maps how the right of way is largely intact all the way to Wilson/Stinton.  Here's a picture of their trains on that right of way. For more visit this  great site
