The year 1995 started off on a rather sad note for all rail commuters on VIA and Amtrak who began their day using Grimsby's fancy old station. For on the eve of the last day of 1994, an electrical fire destroyed this well loved landmark.
Here, we see the morning train stopping for passengers who no doubt feel distressed over seeing the remains of one of the most photographed railroad structures in the province.
The board & batten classic didn't stand a chance. And it was never replaced.
