Caption: There were 4 trains every week on the Coronado at this time. Peddling grain cars and bringing the loads back to Edmonton. 2 of those 4 would also have fuel tanks in the consist (destined for the cold lake air base). It looks to be a solid train of grain loads, but, it is possible that the front few CN hoppers may have had a different purpose. The late 80's was the last hurrah for GMD-1's on the Coronado Sub. GP9's also. By 1990, the GP38-2's owned the rail, on occasion, a GP-9 would trail as a helper, never leading. This did not last long either. The 1070 at the rear seems to have its CN noodle on the long hood painted just a little lower than the others. Photo taken at mile 26.6 on Saturday, just after lunch.
