This morning (posted 07/19/17) CN had a major derailment around 0430 right at this location as the last 13 cars of an eastbound left the tracks right by the VIA shelter platform. This view of a westbound 13 years earlier here shows Alstom (GCFX) 6056 and IC 1032 powering a train past the remains of the historic Strathroy station, destroyed earlier in 2004 by arson. The remains have since all been removed.

  1. Love the water tower in the background. With the demolition of so many Alberta grain elevators, many small towns can still at least be identified from a distance by their water tower. :-)
