This old station, built in 1914, looks rather attractive and solid, but it didn't deter the CP from tearing it down back in 1982. It is pretty well forgotten now.
The building was located at the end of Old Station St., and was on the original Credit Valley line, a railroad that was bought out by CPR early in it's existence. The last passenger train stopped here way back in 1961, but the station was used as a freight office up until near its demise. More history gone.

  1. Such a shame :) I pass here almost daily.

  2. Agreed with Marcus…such a shame these stations are lost. Streetsville…Ayr….Paris….gone. All similar designs. Thankfully Brampton CP station was saved. But a great angle Arnold. Haven’t seen too many photos from this end before.

  3. When the GO project was underway in 1979-80 a lot of train orders were issued out of this station in both directions as slow orders etc evolved. They didn’t seem to have a ‘modern’ hoop with string there, but rather the old circular hoops with a clip on them for the orders. Those things could really hurt the arm if you caught the hoop at speed. With those old hoops, you had to extract your orders & throw the hoop to the ground so the operator could retrieve it. I wanted to help CP modernize their operation by reducing the number of old hoops so when I would catch the thing going east, I wouldn’t throw it down until the train was going over the Credit River by Reid’s Mill. I wonder how many salmon fishermen caught one?
