This was the only time I managed to catch a LMSX Dash-8 leader on NS trains 327/328. Originally the LMS Dash-8’s were split between Conrail and CN. The breakup of Conrail would split half of the fleet between NS and CSX, with CN retaining the rest. This day I caught up with NS 328 just outside of Port Robinson crossing Welland River, on it’s way to Buffalo NY.

  2. These were common back then. We called them LMSX leasers as well – i don’t know how they ended up being called something completely irrelevant for a nickname.
