Caption: Three different railways are represented in this photo at The Pas, MB. on this blistering cold March 16, 2023 morning.
At the left of the frame is VIA Rail's #691 consist of stainless steel Budd built passenger equipment waiting to return to Churchill, on the main in front of the station is KRC's (Keewatin Railway Co.) #291 The Pukatawagan Mixed with classic ex-VIA, exx-CN baggage car and coach loading up with passengers, baggage, and supplies, and, the red brick building to the right is HBR's (Hudson Bay Railway) Maintenance building at 313 Hazelwood Ave. The Pas.
The only remnants identifying this location as a former Canadian National northern Manitoba hub are three old zebra striped locomotives (renumbered for HBR) sitting stored out of sight in the distant yard near the roundhouse/diesel shop facility.

Great scene Paul…thanks for sharing
Thanks Michael. Being in The Pas for three days this past March gave me quite a few opportunities to capture some nice, not often photographed scenes just like this. Glad you are enjoying them.
Paul, a most interesting picture, nicely composed, and only at The Pas where you can see a mixed train beside VIA silver passenger cars. Hope your fingers recovered from the intense cold. Thanks for sharing, John
Thanks John! Yes, it was quite cold on the hands without the gloves while taking photos, but it was well worth it when I look back on the many pics from my time in The Pas.
