Toronto Transit Commission rail grinder W-27 is pictured at the intersection of College and Lansdowne in October of 1960. This Preston Car and Coach Company 1915-built single truck two axle car was formerly Toronto Civic Railways streetcar 53, before being converted into a snow scraper car and then rail grinder W-27 to serve on the streetcar network. It was later transferred to subway service and became rail grinder RT-7, and was eventually donated to the HCRY (where it joined two other TCR cars that had also become work cars).
