  1. Marc, and Sarnia friends, this just crossed my inbox. Looks like VIA will park a train downtown just like they did for the CFL train on August 25. I’ll be out of the country, hope some of you guys can get it:

Information re Aug. 25/18 VIA Rail Train Visitation Sarnia ON

This is an informal note. Your attendance at our upcoming RAIL event would be most welcome…and we ask you to mark your calendar.

VIA Rail is celebrating 40 Years since it’s inception and wants to spend the afternoon with RAIL and the Sarnia-Lambton Community (above date)..They will park their trains for public viewing at Centennial Park and will recognize RAIL’s FIVE Years of Advocacy for improved rail service in our community..

While we have yet to reach our ultimate goal of more service, we are impressed that VIA Rail has recognized us as one of 40 Communities across Canada to celebrate the occasion…….40 ACTS in 40 Cities.

Details are still unfolding… and a formal invite will be announced soon… Meanwhile, please let us know of your availability to attend.

Should you wish to contribute or support the event in any way … as a fledging grass-roots community organization we would be pleased to chat further with you.

    Kind Regards,
    Mabel F Higgins, Co-Chair, RAIL,

    Jim Houston, Co-Chair RAIL

  2. Thanks Steve, I would assume it will be a 40th Anniversary wrap train.
