  1. It’s a steam generator car.

  2. Neat, CN (and later VIA) liked to use steam generator cars for their greater steam generating capacity (two large SG’s are inside ‘em, vs one or two smaller ones in the F-units).

  3. Thanks for the info gents, I thought it was possibly a heating unit but had not seen one like that before.
